Can I get $330MM if someone protests my blog? "Officials with the Minneapolis-St. Paul Host Committee calculates it would cost about $330 million to pay for the kind of publicity the region has received ..." -
Minnesota Public Radio this morningI somehow seriously doubt that the images & stories broadcast from this event were worth event a fraction of that amount. Unless blogging from a place called, "Minneapolis-Saint Paul-Twin Cities", will somehow pay the bills in magic sponsership.
Yesterday, Alissa had a bit of a harrowing trip home from work when a group of protesters decided it would be safe to disrupt traffic and nearly caused several buses to slam into her. Yes, it makes total sense to endanger the lives of State employees because you don't want to follow the permit rules.
I will be home with puppy this weekend while Alissa starts her new semester of school in Duluth. Hopefully, with the convention over, I will be able to visit the
Magic shop on 7th Street again.
On Wednesday, my whole Stevie Ray's improv team (Jason, Maureen, Cristi, Tim, Peter R., Peter B) went to Acme to support to our fellow-team member ZACH (who was performing!) at the
Acme Comedy Company in Minneapolis. Alissa & I came along and had a wonderful time! The headliner was the fantastically talented
DEREK HUGHES from Minnesota/CELEBRACADABRA. It was a really fun show - one of the best top-to-bottom Stand-Up shows I've ever seen.
Other things: My parents are visiting next month. My friend Mark from Hope will be visiting at the end of this month. I am currently teaching a great improv class (16+ people) on Tuesdays. I bought a new Bill Hicks book earlier this week which I look forward to reading as it's lots of transcripts of shows along with interviews he gave. Soon, I'll be releasing the BEST OF THE 80S: MIDSOUTH results which have been perkulating under my excel sheets for more than a month. ALL IS ROCKING GOOD~!
